Wachovia SUCKS!

So lately since Southtrust Bank was taken over by Wachovia I have had nothing but problems. I continually get attacked with $10.00 overdraft protection fees for overdrafts under a 1.00. I mean come on, they're going to take $11.00 out of my savings and put it in my checking account to cover the say $.93 cent overdraft and their $10.00 fee. My most recent hassle took place over an ATM transaction. I went to a Wachovia to withdraw 100.00 but when it came time to dispense the cash I get a message saying cannot process at this time. I tried again, this time $60.00, same message. I ended up having to go to an AmSouth to get the $100.00 and was charged a $2.50 fee. I get home to find out that it's showing $160.00 missing from my account. I immediately called Wachovia and they placed a dispute. Did they refund the money to my account? No! That night after I placed the call I transferred $160.00 from my savings to cover the $160.00 until they figured it out. In the process a transaction I had made was now considered overdrawn so they moved money to my account and slapped me with a fee. I called and they refused to refund the fee, even though they screwed up. I detailed the explanation of how had I originally got my $100.00 I would have had more than enough to cover the transaction. Still refused to give me the fee back. I've decided that enough is enough and I'm switching banks.

Today though I read in the Tampa Tribune about a group of nuns whose account was frozen under the Patriot Act because they didn't have a social security number or picture ID on file. Which bank did the freezing? None other than Wachovia. Here's the story.

I know....I hate that bank. I would like to share my experience here. those morons did not explain to me anything about overdraft fees. I was using my debit card and the card got out of balance. u would think that if card is outta balance then transaction would declined but NOooo .....they had to be "nice" and offer me with credit so that i can get my veggie sandwich from subway (which btw is 4bucks) and guess what? they charged me 60 bucks overdraft fees for that 4 bucks of credit which i never asked for....I say why dont they go on streets and rob people officially than doing this....assholes!!

HOW TO GET YOUR OVERDRAFT FEES BACK FROM WACHOVIA!
So my girlfriend got slapped with over $377 dollars (yes 377) in fees in the last month. This was the first time this had happened to her, even though she lives paycheck to paycheck. Of course the first charge that put her over was rent, (even though thats not the order of the transactions) and the other $35 dollar fees were for purchases under $20 each. There was a phantom charge of $132 which Wachovia could not explain, would not call me back about, and yet refused to refund.
My girlfriend doesnt really stick up for herself much unfortunately, so I called Wachovia with her on speakerphone. After 4 phone calls and an hour and a half of conversation, I threatened a lawsuit to the branch manager and was only offered a standard 25% refund. Not good enough... by a long shot.
I then emailed Wachovia through their website and threatened a lawsuit for charging the largest transaction first, and also for knowingly extending the checking account a line of credit, even though no permission was given. I stated that I would be pursuing a class action lawsuit and would be appearing on morning talk shows within the week.
Wachovia then refunded an additional $189 but gave no response. I just emailed them and want the last $107, or else i would be joining the class action lawsuit being filed against them. (I dont mind paying the first $35 fee.)
We dont have to take this!!! Email Wachovia and threaten to sue for extending credit without permission! then move your business to a credit union!

Bottom line to you whiners. Manage your account, and you won't have to pay overdraft fees. It's really quite a simple concept. It's called a checkbook register. And it's your responsibility to keep track and manage your account.

Here is a fundamental lesson on how to utilize your checkbook register: You take your balance, and when you swipe your checkcard, you write the transaction in your register, and subtract it from your balance. For deposits, you add it to your balance. If you go below zero in the balance in your checkbook, you are overdrawn. It's quite simple really. Here's what you had, and here's what you spent. Fundamental. You should try it sometime. NO EXCUSES.

The bank didn't overdraw your account, YOU did. Did Wachovia call you and tell you to go swipe your check card and buy your veggie sandwich from Subway when you didn't have any money in your account? I think not. YOU made the decision. OOPS, did Wachovia tell you to swipe your card at McDonalds when you didn't have the money in your account? NO! When you signed your signature card, you agreed to the rules and regulations for the account, (but I'm sure you read through everything very closely considering how you act like you know more than Wachovia does.) Maybe we should fire our CEO and bring you in to manage the fourth largest bank in the country since you are so damn knowledgable. It's not our job to tell you every facet contained in your rules and regulations, or teach you how to manage your account. You are an adult... read it yourself. Just close the account and bank elsewhere if you don't agree. But quit your whining. Buh-bye.

Oh, and one more thing. Class-action lawsuit to get your fees back? Considering Wachovia has a board of top corporate attorneys who write the account rules and regulations I'm sure your threat went a long way. Gosh, you are just so brilliant! Oh wait, seems every other person who overdrew their account cries attorney as well inside the branch. Trust me, when you signed that agreement, you signed you understood and agreed to the account rules and regulations.

As far as the title of this post, "Wachovia Sucks" Wachovia doesn't suck... it's moron's like yourself that don't know how to keep a checkbook that we have to deal with that SUCK.

Have a nice life... sounds like it might be a rough one for you...

Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

Bottom line... Ive never had an overdraft fee with wachovia, no, they stole my money the good old fashioned way.... by taking it out of my deposit envelope and pocketing it. Don't give me this bullshit about managing your accounts. Wachovia bank attendants and tellers, managers, and customer service reps are liars and thieves. Unlike some who are THREATENING to take action, I actually am. If anyone is interested in joining me or would like information on pro-bono lawsuits or police investigations into this bank, I can be reached via email: Dvaldez86@comcast.net. I want my money back, just because this is a bank doesn't mean they don't have to abide by the laws and one of the biggest laws in this country is DO NOT STEAL. Also, when a customer asks you to CANCEL their debit card after they report it STOLEN.... and you fail to do so, and it causes monetary loss for that customer, I do believe you should be held responsible. Instead, Wachovia chooses to yell and berate its customers. Very professional.

To annoumous! I do keep a check book register down to the penny and Wachovia told me that didn't mean anything only their records matter. They took my entire paycheck plus some. I have never had this kind of trouble with my acct until now and Wachovia doesn't care. They implied to my boyfriend that I have had numerous overdrafts and that he was only getting one side of the story. I personally am not done with them! I will get my money back and they will also pay for defimation of my character. This bank needs to be stopped. Loyal customers should count

Wachovia should change their name to "Walk all over ya".

lol at the Wachovia employee trying to look as if they know what they were talking about. Has anyone else ever noticed that every time they make a mistake on your account and you hold them accountable, every employee there has a different excuse as to why? As far as what anon said about Wachovia's legal team, I bet that is what Bank of America thought as well and they just recently lost a class-action lawsuit for overdraft fees such as these. :)

Wachovia sucks very much indeed. I wish there was a class action suit against them. With my salary, its hard to make ends meet, so sometimes I over-withdraw my account, so yes, I do deserve a penalty for that, but the way Wachovia operates, and this is a fact, is they will hold on to smaller purchases until a larger purchase is processed (which would overdraw your account), then process all the smaller charges, so they can apply overdraft fees to EACH of them, even if it's only $2.95

I called them up one time to try and get some of the fees refunded, and they told me it was their POLICY to hold onto all the smaller purchases until the larger ones clear.

That means, if I buy a $1.50 coffee, and maybe a $5 sandwich later that day for lunch, they will hold onto those purchases for DAYS until a larger purchase is made (say an automatic $100 insurance payment). This way they can charge $35 for a $1.50 coffee, and $35 for a $5 sandwich, then another $35 for the insurance payment.

Sounds pretty damn crooked to me! You greedy bastards!

Wachovia is criminal. They predated checks and withheld deposits in order to cause overdrafts. They purchased programs specifically to defraud people of their money. The idiots that say balance your checkbook have no clue. My girlfriend had a CD with wachovia which rolled over. Wachovia almost would not disclose how they changed the terms on the CD. When she finally got the new terms it was awful how they were screwing her. She withdrew all her money despite the penalties and will never do business with them again. I personally have gotten at least 5 people to withdraw all accounts from Wachovia, they are the scum of the earth. When I withdrew all my money I told the account slep he needs to find a new job because Wachovia is going down. I don't know of one person that feels Wachovia is an honest bank.
